Materials: Double stranded Cascade 220 worsted weight yarn
Materials: Double stranded Cascade 220 worsted weight yarn
Size 13 needles
*Tree is knit in garter stitch
​
Cast on 27 stitches in double stranded green yarn.
Knit 2 together at the beginning and end of every 4th row until 3 stitches remain.
Pull tail through these last 3 stitches.
​
In double stranded brown/trunk yarn, pick up 7 stitches center middle of the bottom of your tree. Knit 10 rows. Bind off.
​

Materials: 1-2 skeins
Malabrigo Rasta
Size 13 double point needles
​
​
Instructions are for adult medium or large mitten.
Where only one number is given it refers to both sizes. Number in parenthesis refer to large size.
​
To make a smaller mitten decrease the number of rows in body and top of mitten by 3.
​
Cast on 18 (20) stitches and distribute them on three dp needles.
​
*Knit 1, purl 1*; repeat for 2 rounds.
​
Knit 11 (13) rounds.
​
Begin thumb increases as follows:
Round 1: K1, M1, K to last stitch, M1, K1
Round 2: Knit all stitches
Round 3: K2, M1, knit to last 2 stitches, M1, K2.
Round 4: Knit to the last 3 stitches; put those 3 stitches plus next 3 stitches on a holder. Using backward loop method, cast on 2 stitches.

Knit 14 (16) rounds.
​
Shape top as follows:
​
Round 1: *K2tog, K1*around
Round 2: Knit all stitches
Round 3: K2tog around
​
Cut yarn. Using tapestry needle, run yarn end through remaining stitches and pull tight.
​
Knit thumb as follows:
​
Divide held stitches onto 2 needles. Pick up 3 additional stitches from above held stitches.
Knit 1 round.
On next round,K1, K2tog, knit remaining stitches.
Knit 6 (8) more rounds.
K2tog around.
Cut yarn and pull throught remaining stitches.
​
Knit second mitten in exactly the same manner.
